I thought it might be time I explained why I stopped blogging regularly. I hadn’t planned to talk about this on my blog, but since I still haven’t managed to get back on a regular schedule, I should probably explain why.
In September, we found out my dad has pancreatic cancer. This is one of the worst kinds of cancer, as you may know. Steve Jobs, Patrick Swayze, and Alan Rickman all died after battling this disease. My dad is currently having chemotherapy and radiation, and as you can imagine, some days or weeks are rough due to their effects. My mom and I are taking care of him, and I do a lot of the driving to his appointments, which are every day. I also have to fit work and grocery shopping or pharmacy pick-ups in there. Dad’s treatments will continue into the first week of December, at least, and next year he may have surgery. Writing blogs (or novels) just hasn’t been a priority.
So, you understand why I haven’t been posting. I was surprised to realize my last post was twenty-five days ago, when it seemed like just last week. And before that, I know it had probably been even longer. I’m sure I will get back to a regular weekly schedule at some point. I have a list of potential topics.
I have been trying to participate in NaNoWriMo, and have written about 8,000 words on a new manuscript. I would like to have written more, but I haven’t had the energy every day.
If you are a believer in prayer, we would appreciate your prayers for my dad. We believe that God is alongside us during this experience. He is faithful, and He loves us.
My father-in-law had pancreatic cancer, on top of his Hepatitus C and other internal issues from being wounded in Vietnam which made treatment impossible. You are all in my prayers.

Thank you so much! I’m so sorry to hear that your family experienced this too, though.
